Amr Nasser, the current Zamalek striker and former Pharco player, has become the talk of the football world after being nominated for the prestigious Puskás Award for the best goal in the world in 2025.
This nomination stems from the stunning goal Nasser scored against Al Ahly last season while playing for Pharco, during the Egyptian League Cup competition.
With this nomination, Amr Nasser becomes the second Egyptian player to be shortlisted for the Puskás Award since its inception. He follows in the footsteps of global superstar Mohamed Salah, who was nominated in 2018 for his remarkable goal against Everton in the English Premier League.

If Nasser wins the award, he will become the second Egyptian player to do so, after Mohamed Salah, who achieved this feat in 2018 with 38% of the vote, a significant margin ahead of his rival, Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, who garnered 22% of the votes at the time.
The most notable point is that Amr Nasser, if he wins, will achieve a historic precedent by becoming the first player ever to win the Puskás Award while still playing in the Egyptian Premier League.
