Egyptian media reported that Zamalek is close to signing defender Jefferson Costa.
Costa, 19, plays in Benfica’s Castelo Branco Academy.
Zamalek reached an agreement with Benfica to sign Costa for free, with the Portuguese club getting 10% of the future sale.
The Guinean is expected to arrive in Cairo in the coming days to complete the contract and immediately join coach Jose Gomes’ squad.
Costa will be the second foreign player under the age of 20 after Senegalese striker Sidi Ndaye, which is the solution Zamalek decided to solve the central defender crisis in light of the exaggeration of Egyptian clubs in the prices of defenders.
The White Knight’s summer moves are not expected to end here, as they are still looking for a midfielder under the age of 20, in addition to a strong striker after the failure of the Aaron Boupendza deal.
