Zamalek and Enppi played to a goalless draw at Cairo International Stadium in the fourth round of the second leg of the 2026 Egyptian Premier League.
The White Knights’ morale was high after their victory over Pyramids in the previous round, and another win against Enppi would have brought them very close to clinching the title they last won in 2022.
Coach Moataz Gamal surprised everyone by making some changes to the starting lineup, leaving Ahmed Fatouh, Nasser Mansi, and Oday Dabbagh on the bench and starting Seifeddine Jaziri and Ahmed Rabie.
The first half was almost entirely in Enppi’s favor, with the petroleum club squandering several clear-cut scoring opportunities, thanks to a stellar performance from goalkeeper El Mahdi Soliman.
In the second half, the tables turned, and Zamalek wasted a host of chances, most notably Ahmed Fatouh’s cross to Nasser Mansi inside the penalty area, whose powerful shot went wide.
With this draw, the Egyptian Premier League title race heats up, especially as Zamalek will face Al Ahly in the next round at the beginning of May, in a match that will be crucial in determining this season’s champion.
Zamalek reached 50 points and maintains its lead, while Al Ahly and Pyramids have 44 points each before their anticipated match this evening, Monday. The winner of this match will close the gap on the White Knights, while a draw would be entirely in favor of Moataz Gamal’s team.
