The 25-year-old’s contract with Zamalek expires in the summer of 2027, and so far, the two sides have not reached an agreement on renewal due to the club’s precarious financial situation.

According to recent reports, Zamalek has temporarily shelved the renewal negotiations with Hossam Abdel-Maguid until the end of the current season in order to focus on the crucial period the White Knights are currently experiencing.

Next summer, Zamalek’s sporting director, John Edward, will make a final attempt to convince Hossam Abdel-Maguid to renew his contract. If this fails, he will be put up for sale rather than leave for free in 2027.

Zamalek has set a minimum price of $2 million for the Egyptian international to be sold to any European club, with bonuses and incentives linked to appearances, a percentage of any future resale, and a fee upon his return to Egypt, to secure his services and deter potential suitors.

Abdel-Maguid is eager to pursue a professional career abroad, especially since he has received several attractive offers from top-five European leagues in recent months.

The promising center-back is currently leading Zamalek to the top of the Egyptian Premier League table, five points ahead of Al Ahly and Pyramids FC. Zamalek, coached by Moataz Gamal, has also reached the CAF Confederation Cup final, where they will face Algeria’s USM Alger.
