Zamalek reached the final of the 2026 CAF Confederation Cup after a goalless draw with CR Belouizdad in the second leg of the semi-final at Cairo International Stadium.
The first leg at Nelson Mandela Stadium ended in a 1-0 victory for Zamalek, courtesy of a goal from Juan Bezerra, securing their place in the final with a 1-0 aggregate score.
Oday Dabbagh scored a goal for Zamalek in today’s match, but it was disallowed after a VAR review due to offside.
CR Belouizdad tried on several occasions to score the opening goal in the match, which was attended by approximately 70,000 Zamalek fans. However, goalkeeper Mehdi Soliman made a brilliant save in the 80th minute to keep a clean sheet.
With this result, Zamalek awaits the winner of the match between Algeria’s USM Alger and Morocco’s Olympique Safi in the final. The first leg between the two teams ended in a goalless draw in Algeria, and the second leg will be played next Sunday.
The first leg of the final is scheduled for Friday, May 9, 2026, in either Algeria or Morocco, while the second leg and trophy presentation will take place the following Friday at Cairo International Stadium.
It’s worth noting that Zamalek has previously won the Confederation Cup twice, in 2019 and 2023, defeating Morocco’s RS Berkane in both finals.
