Lamine Yamal will become one of Barcelona’s highest-paid players after renewing his six-year contract with the Catalan club.
From the outset, the 17-year-old made it clear that he wanted to continue with Barça, regardless of the financial temptations from outside.
At the same time, Barcelona decided to protect Yamal by offering him a substantial salary, while also including a nearly unattainable release clause.

According to Sport, Yamal’s salary with Barcelona will be €8 million net after taxes.
This will place him in Barcelona’s second-highest salary bracket, behind Robert Lewandowski, Ter Stegen, and Frenkie de Jong.
However, the interesting thing is that the variables included in the contract will make Yamal’s salary exceed all other names.

These variables depend on Barcelona’s collective successes, as well as individual awards and the number of goals Yamal scores.
On a fixed basis, Yamal’s salary will increase by €2 million per year, bringing it to €20 million by the sixth year (2031), or approximately €40 million including taxes.

As is typical for Barcelona’s management, a staggering, almost unactivable release clause was included in Yamal’s contract.
Sport newspaper indicated that the value of this release clause is €1 billion.
Thus, Barcelona ensures that English clubs or Paris Saint-Germain cannot tamper with Yamal and attempt to sign him against the Catalans’ wishes.
