Why is Haaland absent from Manchester City’s match against Leeds?

Norwegian star Erling Haaland was surprisingly left out of Manchester City’s squad for their match against Leeds United.

Despite scoring 22 goals in 27 appearances for City this season, Haaland will miss the highly anticipated clash at Elland Road in Leeds.

Guardiola commented on Haaland’s absence, saying: “Two days ago in training, he had some problems and a minor injury. It’s not a big problem, but he’s not ready to play today.”

He added: “We are missing a top-class striker, but we have another top-class striker as well.”

With Haaland absent, Omar Marmoush will lead the Manchester City attack, alongside Antoine Semenyo and Rayan Cherki.

Unless something changes, Haaland should be fit to play against Nottingham Forest next Wednesday, as well as against Newcastle in the FA Cup next Saturday.
