Vinicius hints at Alonso: Ancelotti instills confidence in us

Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior has alluded to Carlo Ancelotti, the Brazilian national team coach, in what many interpret as a hint at what he currently lacks at the Bernabéu under Xabi Alonso.

The relationship between Vinicius and Ancelotti was exceptionally strong over the past four years, but problems began to surface after Alonso took over at Real Madrid, culminating in the incident between the player and coach during the last Clásico.

“With Ancelotti, we are developing and building a clear playing identity,” Vinicius said of Ancelotti. “Finding this balance before the World Cup will be crucial. We all need to get into a World Cup mindset and understand that our opportunity has arrived.”

He added, “Ancelotti has done the same thing everywhere he has gone; he has instilled confidence and brought out the best in every player in their ideal position.”

He continued, “He always says that his dream is to make the Brazilian people happy, to bring back the joyful football that characterizes us, and to win the World Cup.”

“He gives us calm and confidence,” he added. “He reminds us that we already have the passion and strength to wear this shirt, and that’s the hardest part. We just need to win so his work gets the recognition it deserves.”

The Brazilian national team continues its preparations for the World Cup, and Vinicius and his teammates will play two matches during the current international break against Senegal and Tunisia in London and Lille, respectively.
