To escape Alonso’s nightmare… Rodrygo set to leave in January

Another Real Madrid star may be forced to leave the club in the upcoming winter transfer window to secure more playing time before the 2026 World Cup.

Andrek is on the verge of joining Lyon on loan after losing his place in Xabi Alonso’s starting lineup and deciding to stop fighting for his spot and instead focus on securing minutes to convince Carlo Ancelotti to include him in Brazil’s World Cup squad.

According to Sky Sports, another star who could leave Real Madrid in the winter is Rodrygo Goes, although he would prefer to stay at the Santiago Bernabéu and try to convince Alonso to rely on him.

In recent hours, it has been reported that Tottenham might be interested in signing Rodrygo, but Sky confirms that the English club is completely out of the running due to the Brazilian star’s high salary.

However, Rodrygo’s agent is considering all options in the winter transfer window, and he could end up leaving Real Madrid permanently if a suitable offer arrives, both financially and in terms of sporting potential.

The 24-year-old has only featured in 16 matches, mostly as a substitute, totaling just 452 minutes. Rodrygo understands that continuing in this manner will mean being dropped from the Brazilian national team and ending his dream of playing in the World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
