The “El Chiringuito” program revealed that Andrey Lunin has not yet agreed to renew his contract with Real Madrid, which extends until the summer of 2025.
After the Ukrainian’s outstanding performance this season in the absence of Thibaut Courtois, Real Madrid’s management made an offer for him to renew, but he will return to become the second goalkeeper as soon as the Belgian goalkeeper returns.
According to the program, Lunin does not want to return to the bench, and wants guarantees from the Real Madrid administration that he will continue as the first goalkeeper even when Courtois returns.
Florentino Perez’s administration cannot provide these guarantees given Courtois’ levels before the injury, which opens the door to Lunin’s departure next summer.
Even if the Real Madrid management refuses to let Lunin leave this season, he has an alternative plan, which is to leave for free in the summer of 2025, and there are already many clubs that have a desire to obtain his services.
At the top of the clubs aspiring to sign the 25-year-old is Paris Saint-Germain, along with Bayern Munich, which is looking at the goalkeeper as a long-term replacement for Manuel Neuer, as well as Manchester United.
It is noteworthy that Lunin played 28 matches this season with Real Madrid in all tournaments, during which he conceded 25 goals, while leaving with a clean sheet 12 times.
