Mundo Deportivo has revealed the player most likely to win The Best FIFA Men’s Player 2025 award.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, for the second consecutive year, on the eve of the Intercontinental Cup final between Paris Saint-Germain and Flamengo.
According to the latest report, Ousmane Dembélé is the favorite to win The Best FIFA Men’s Player 2025, just months after winning the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
Dembélé’s phenomenal season with Paris Saint-Germain, culminating in a historic treble, along with his individual statistics of contributing to over 50 goals, puts him far ahead of his closest rival, Lamine Yamal.
It’s worth noting that the voting process for The Best FIFA Men’s Player award is entirely different from the Ballon d’Or. FIFA relies on votes from national team coaches and captains, while France Football’s Ballon d’Or is based on votes from journalists.
In the same vein, Barcelona’s Aitana Bonmatí is expected to win the Best Women’s Player award, while Luis Enrique, the PSG coach, is considered the favorite for Best Coach. Gianluigi Donnarumma, the current Manchester City goalkeeper, is the frontrunner for Best Goalkeeper.
It’s also worth mentioning that last year Vinicius Junior won The Best FIFA Men’s Player award despite Rodri winning the Ballon d’Or. However, a repeat of this scenario is unlikely this year, given the absence of the same controversy surrounding Rodri’s Ballon d’Or win that existed in 2024.
