Slot excludes Salah from Inter match

RMC Sports has confirmed that Mohamed Salah will not travel with the Liverpool squad to Italy for their Champions League match against Inter Milan on Tuesday.

Manager Arne Slot made the decision to leave the “Egyptian King” out of the trip to Inter, in consultation with the Liverpool board, following Salah’s recent comments expressing his disappointment and anger at being benched for the last three matches.

It is highly likely that Salah’s exclusion will not be limited to the Inter game, but will also extend to his final match for Liverpool against Brighton before joining the Egyptian national team for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Liverpool board fully supports Slot’s stance on Salah, believing that his exclusion from the previous matches was for tactical reasons and that the 33-year-old should have accepted it instead of making critical statements against the club and his manager.

Slot is currently considering starting Dominik Szoboszlai on the right wing instead of Salah against Inter.

In general, Liverpool will have to choose between Slot and Salah. The pair will not be together again at the club, and as of now, John Henry’s management is on the side of the coach, which means the player could end up leaving Anfield next January.
