UEFA has released an update to its European club rankings for 2025, which included some surprises, most notably the position of Champions League champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Before going into details, the UEFA rankings are cumulative, meaning they are based on a points system based on matches won and titles won over several seasons, not just the current one.
Real Madrid maintained its lead in the UEFA rankings despite their early exit from the Champions League last season, while Bayern Munich is second, more than 9,000 points behind.
Inter Milan is third, Manchester City is fourth, Liverpool is fifth, and PSG, the continent’s best team last year, is sixth with 94,500 points.
Barcelona’s ranking was undoubtedly a surprise, as the Catalan club remains far from the top, occupying ninth place, surpassed by German duo Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund, while Roma is immediately behind.
