Ronaldo Loses Another Final: Al-Ahli Wins the Saudi Super Cup

Cristiano Ronaldo continued his slump in titles, losing the Saudi Super Cup final to Al-Ahli on penalties with Al-Nassr.

The match ended in a 2-2 draw in regular time, after Ronaldo gave Al-Nassr the lead from a penalty kick and Frank Chiesi equalized in the first half. Marcelo Brozovic then scored the second goal, and Ibanez equalized for Al-Ahli in the 89th minute.

This makes 2025 the fourth consecutive year that Ronaldo has failed to win a team title, after his last title was in 2021 when he won the Coppa Italia with Juventus.

Ronaldo had also lost the Saudi King’s Cup to Al-Hilal the season before last, also on penalties.

Meanwhile, this is also the fourth consecutive year for Al-Nassr that the global team has failed to win any official title.

This is the first time that Jorge Jesus has lost the Saudi Super Cup, after three previous successful appearances with Al-Hilal.

Now Ronaldo and Al-Nassr will begin working towards the most important title, the Saudi League, as Al-Nassr’s campaign begins with a match against Al-Taawoun next Friday.
