Ronaldo Chooses Al-Nassr’s New Coach

Al-Nassr is close to deciding on its new coach for next season, after reaching an agreement with a prominent Portuguese coach, nominated by the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo.

Al-Nassr dismissed its Italian coach, Stefano Pioli, after a disappointing season, and former AC Milan coach Sergio Conceicao was the most frequently mentioned name around Parc des Princes in recent days.

However, the last few hours have witnessed a notable change, as the club’s management leans toward another option with more experience in Saudi football and who can make an immediate difference.

Al-Nassr Makes Official Offer to Jorge Jesus

According to Al-Riyadh newspaper, Al-Nassr’s management has made an official offer to renowned coach Jorge Jesus to lead the Knights of Najd for two seasons.

The offer included an annual salary of €7 million, along with other bonuses that would make him one of the highest-paid coaches in the Saudi League.

According to Portuguese media, Jesus has agreed in principle to coach Al-Nassr, but a final agreement has not yet been reached with the club’s management on this move.

Ronaldo is the one who chose Jesus

Portuguese press reports indicate that Ronaldo himself requested the signing of his compatriot Jesus and suggested the matter to the Al-Nassr management after Stefano Pioli’s departure.

This news comes in light of other reports that Ronaldo himself had previously contacted Sergio Conceicao to convince him to coach Al-Nassr.

In any case, it is certain that the 40-year-old Ronaldo will be involved in one way or another in selecting the new coach for Al-Nassr, and this appears to be one of the terms of the agreement between him and the club to renew his contract for two years.

Jesus’s Career in the Saudi League

Jesus, 70, has coached Al-Hilal twice, achieving numerous accomplishments in both, making him one of the most successful coaches in the history of the Saudi League.

Jesus led Al-Hilal to an unbeaten Roshen League title, won the King’s Cup once, the Saudi Super Cup three times, and finished fourth in the 2019 Club World Cup.

Jesus was dismissed from coaching Al-Hilal last May after the Blue Wave’s elimination from the AFC Champions League, following a season in which he failed domestically, losing the league and cup titles to Al-Ittihad.
