Real Madrid Targets Major Winter Signing… But There’s One Obstacle!

Real Madrid officials believe the club needs an attacking signing during the winter transfer window, and there’s a player who has caught Florentino Perez’s eye. However, acquiring him won’t be easy.

Spanish media outlets have revealed that Real Madrid is planning to bring back Nico Paz from Como, a move that would be ideal for the attack and is highly desired by coach Xabi Alonso.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the buy-back clause in the tripartite contract between Paz, Real Madrid, and Como cannot be activated in the upcoming winter transfer window, hindering any attempts by Los Blancos to sign him next month.

Como’s management is categorically refusing to sell Paz in the winter, and Real Madrid, despite needing the player, doesn’t intend to pay a hefty sum to bring him in January. Thus, the deal appears unlikely to materialize.

However, Real Madrid are determined to bring Paz back, and if the club’s efforts to secure his services in January fail, they will certainly activate the buy-back clause next summer for less than €20 million.

The 21-year-old moved to Como in the summer of 2014 and has since become a key player for coach Cesc Fàbregas, making 48 appearances, scoring 11 goals and providing 13 assists.
