National teams continue to announce their rosters for Euro 2024, and the most recent announcers were the Spain national team, led by Luis de la Fuente, and the Belgium national team, led by Domenico Tedesco.
Perhaps the surprise in the Spanish national team list was specifically related to Real Madrid, as De La Fuente, who has been shining recently, excluded Lucas Vazquez despite what was said in the newspapers that he would include him.
According to the Spanish media, this left great frustration for the 32-year-old player, who is enjoying almost his best seasons in a Real Madrid shirt.
The decision to exclude Vasquez, according to all reports, comes from the technical vision of coach De La Fuente, who prefers other options in the right-back and winger positions, of which Vasquez was a victim, as well as Tottenham full-back Pedro Porro.
On Tuesday, the Belgium national team announced its list and it did not include the name of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, despite his recent return from injury and the possibility of his participation in the Champions League final.
But the situation is different here than in Vasquez and Spain, as Courtois was not summoned at his request, as he wants to recover sufficiently from the cruciate ligament and not put pressure on himself in order to play the entire next season.
Coach Tedesco said about this, “Courtois knows his body well and announced his position on participating in the Euros very early and we respect that.”
