Real Madrid stands with Mbappé against PSG’s “hypocrisy”

A heated legal battle is currently raging in French courts between Kylian Mbappé and Paris Saint-Germain. The two parties are disputing the French player’s unpaid wages, with PSG seeking enormous compensation for the 25-year-old’s transfer to Real Madrid in the summer of 2024.

Mbappé joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 and remained at the Parc des Princes until 2024, when he announced he would not renew his contract. He went unpaid from February to June before announcing his move to Real Madrid on a free transfer.

According to French media reports, Mbappé is demanding €253 million in compensation, including unpaid wages, a reassessment of his contract, and what he calls “psychological harassment” he suffered at the hands of Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s management.

Surprisingly, Paris Saint-Germain has countered with a demand for €440 million in compensation!

The French club’s lawyer claims that Mbappé had an agreement with Real Madrid a year prior, thus depriving Paris Saint-Germain of at least €200 million from his sale.

Meanwhile, PSG is seeking €20 million in damages for reputational harm, €60 million for bad faith in the execution of an agreement dated August 2023, and €180 million for concealing this agreement.

The newspaper Defensa Central reports that Real Madrid is closely monitoring the situation and fully supports Mbappé in his demands against what Florentino Pérez’s administration calls “Paris Saint-Germain’s hypocrisy.”

Real Madrid officials had already submitted a €200 million offer to sign Mbappé in 2021, which PSG never responded to, confirming that they never intended to sell the player, directly contradicting their claims before the French court.

Mbappe could use these documents as evidence that Paris Saint-Germain’s narrative is untrue, and Real Madrid, for its part, will not stop supporting its star player for even a moment, which threatens to strain relations between the two clubs, given that the relationship between Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Florentino Perez has already been extremely tense since the invention of the European Super League.
