Ozil: El Clásico has become weak because of Barcelona!

Mesut Ozil, the former Real Madrid star, considered that the El Clasico match between Real Madrid and Barcelona had lost its usual media momentum, and the reason lies in the decline of the Catalan club.

The German star, who wore the Real Madrid shirt from 2009 to 2013, said in media statements, “In my days, El Clásico was the most important match in the world.”

He also added, “Unfortunately for me, during my time with Real Madrid, Barcelona was the best version of them in history under the leadership of Pep Guardiola.”

He continued, “Now, I think the fans are focusing on matches like Liverpool and City, or matches in the English Premier League in general.”

He concluded, “The level of El Clásico has declined, and the reason for that is not Real Madrid. Real Madrid is still one of the best clubs in the world without a doubt. The problem is Barcelona’s decline.”

It is noteworthy that Barcelona lost the services of Lionel Messi in 2021, and also suffered from economic crises that caused it to lose many stars and to decline greatly in recent years.
