Lamine Yamal scored his first career hat-trick, netting three goals in Barcelona’s 4-1 victory over Villarreal on Saturday.
In the 28th minute, Yamal opened the scoring after a one-on-one with the goalkeeper, firing a low left-footed shot past him. He then added a stunning second goal in the 38th minute with a powerful left-footed strike.
Villarreal pulled one back early in the second half through Pape Gueye, but Yamal struck again in the 69th minute to complete his hat-trick.
This was Yamal’s first hat-trick for Barcelona.
Yamal’s tally for Barcelona in La Liga this season now stands at 13 goals, making him the third-highest scorer behind Kylian Mbappé (23 goals) and Vedat Muriqi (16 goals).
Overall, the 18-year-old has scored 43 goals and provided 48 assists in 139 appearances for Barcelona.
With this victory, Barcelona extended their lead at the top of the league to four points over Real Madrid, who will face Getafe in this round next Monday.
