Officially… Tudor appointed “interim” manager of Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur have officially announced the appointment of Igor Tudor as their new manager, who will lead the Spurs until the end of the current season.

The former Juventus coach succeeds Thomas Frank, who was dismissed with the club languishing in the relegation zone, just five points above the drop zone, following a disastrous run of results that has seen them win only two of their last 17 Premier League matches.

Tudor’s first test will be a heavyweight clash in the North London derby against arch-rivals Arsenal, the league leaders, at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on February 22.

In his first comments, Tudor said: “It is a great honor to join this club at this important moment. I am fully aware of the responsibility on my shoulders and my objective is clear: to achieve consistency and compete with determination in every match.”

Tottenham’s sporting director, Johan Lang, stated: “Igor possesses the clarity, sharpness, and experience needed to handle difficult moments and make an immediate impact. Our immediate objective is to restore consistency, capitalize on the quality within our squad, and compete strongly in the Premier League and the Champions League.”

It’s worth noting that Tudor (47 years old) has previously managed Lazio, Marseille, and Galatasaray, but has never stayed at a single club for more than two years. His focus is now entirely on salvaging Tottenham’s season and steering the team away from the Premier League relegation battle.
