An injury has struck another Real Madrid star, forcing him to miss the remainder of the season until the end of 2025.
Real Madrid released an official statement confirming that Ferland Mendy has suffered a new leg injury, ruling him out of all of Los Blancos’ matches this December.
The club’s statement read, “Following tests carried out today on our player Ferland Mendy by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury to the biceps femoris muscle in his right leg.”
According to Spanish media reports, Mendy will need at least a month to recover and return to the pitch.
The French defender will definitely miss the matches against Athletic Bilbao, Celta Vigo, Manchester City, and Alavés, with a glimmer of hope that he might be available for the final match against Sevilla on December 20.
Real Madrid’s current focus is on preparing the player optimally for the Spanish Super Cup, which kicks off on January 8 in Saudi Arabia.
It’s worth noting that Mendy returned to the pitch less than a month ago after being sidelined since the Copa del Rey final last April due to injury.
