Real Madrid denied in an official statement what was circulated that the Royal Club will not participate in the 2025 Club World Cup, and confirmed its commitment to being present in the United States of America.
Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, made controversial statements that his club would not participate in the Club World Cup due to poor revenue of 20 million euros for the entire competition.
After great controversy over these statements, Real Madrid was forced to clarify that its plans to participate in the competition with its new system had not changed and that Ancelotti’s statements had nothing to do with reality.
Real Madrid’s official statement regarding participation in the 2025 Club World Cup came as follows:
“Real Madrid confirms that its participation in the Club World Cup under the new system has never been in question at any time. Thus, we confirm that our team will compete, as was planned, in the tournament in which we participate with great pride and enthusiasm to make our fans around the world dream again of achieving… New title.”
Minutes later, Ancelotti provided an explanation for his previous statements, and confirmed Real Madrid’s words that the club will participate in the 2025 Club World Cup.
The Italian coach said, “My previous statements were misunderstood.”
He concluded, “Nothing could be further from my interest than rejecting the possibility of playing in the tournament, which I believe could be a great opportunity to continue fighting to achieve great titles with Real Madrid.”
