Tottenham have already spent £230 million this summer as part of a massive squad overhaul under manager Roberto De Zerbi, following a disastrous season in which the club finished 17th and narrowly escaped relegation.

The deals completed so far have not been enough for the Italian manager, who continues to look for attacking reinforcements. Surprisingly, Marmoush has become an integral part of the Spurs’ plans for the new season.

According to The Athletic, Tottenham are in talks with Manchester City to sign Marmoush, as part of a double operation through which they are also seeking to seal a deal for Brazilian winger Savinho.

The negotiations have not reached a final agreement yet, but talks between the two clubs are progressing, as Tottenham work to understand the financial conditions required to sign the duo during the remainder of the transfer window.

The Savinho negotiations do not come as a surprise, as Tottenham have been negotiating with Manchester City over the Brazilian player for a long time. The figures discussed initially started at around £60 million, before City’s demands rose in recent reports to nearly £85 million.

As for Marmoush, the report did not reveal a specific asking price for his departure, but Manchester City will be keen to recoup most of the fee they paid to sign him from Eintracht Frankfurt, which could put the potential value of the deal between £60 million and £70 million.

Based on these estimates, the cost of signing Marmoush and Savinho could range between £120 million and £155 million, depending on the final price agreed upon by Manchester City for each player and the add-ons attached to both deals.

Marmoush joined Manchester City in January 2025 from Eintracht Frankfurt for an initial £59 million, alongside add-ons worth around £4 million.

The Egyptian international played 61 matches for City across all competitions, scoring 15 goals, but last season he suffered from reduced starting appearances in light of Erling Haaland’s presence and fierce competition in the attack.

The negotiations come amid a major revolution at Manchester City following the end of Pep Guardiola’s era, with Bernardo Silva departing for Real Madrid, John Stones leaving upon the expiry of his contract, Manuel Akanji moving to Inter, and Nathan Ake joining Fenerbahce.

The club also sold Rodri to Barcelona for around €70 million, Tijjani Reijnders moved to Al Qadsiah for €61 million, while doubts hover over Nico Gonzalez’s future amid Newcastle’s interest in securing his services.
