Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti believes that what Vinicius Junior is doing this season with the Royal Club at all levels guarantees him the right to win the Ballon d’Or.
Vinicius was one of Real Madrid’s most important stars in the semi-final match against Bayern Munich, whether in the first leg or the second leg, and he actually led the Merengues to the La Liga and Super Cup titles.
After the 2-1 victory over Bayern and reaching the Champions League final, Ancelotti spoke about Vinicius by saying, “My feeling is that Vinicius is close to winning the Ballon d’Or.”
He also added, “What he has done this season can only be described as truly exceptional. He has always appeared in all the important moments in all tournaments.”
The 23-year-old scored 22 goals and assisted 11 others in all tournaments, and is the player with the highest scoring contribution within Real Madrid so far this season.
It is assumed that Jude Bellingham is currently Vinicius’s biggest competitor for the Ballon d’Or, and perhaps what will decide who wins the award is what will happen in Euro 2024 and the Copa America.
