Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti has officially announced that Neymar Jr. is not yet fit to feature in the Seleção’s opening match of the 2026 World Cup against Morocco, scheduled for Sunday morning.
The Brazilian superstar has been unable to participate in any full team training sessions due to a muscle injury sustained nearly a month ago while playing for Santos.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of the Morocco clash, Ancelotti stated: “Neymar is working incredibly hard to recover as quickly as possible, but he will not play against Morocco.”
The Italian manager added: “His rehabilitation process is going well, and the expectation is that he will return and reintegrate into group training next week.”
