New Premier League Manager Sack

Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced the sacking of manager Vitor Pereira after the worst start to a season in the club’s history.

Pereira was appointed in December 2014, successfully guiding Wolves to safety from relegation to the Championship. However, things have taken a dramatic turn this season, with the Wolves suffering a dramatic decline.

In their first 10 Premier League matches, Wolves failed to secure a single victory, managing only two draws and suffering eight defeats, the most recent being against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

Wolves were also knocked out of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday by Chelsea.

Wolves chairman Jeff Shi said: “Unfortunately, the start to this season has been disappointing, and while we sincerely wanted to give the manager the necessary time and matches to improve his performance, we have reached a point where a change is necessary.”

English press reports indicate that Wolverhampton Wanderers are considering bringing back manager Gary O’Neill, while other reports have mentioned Xavi Hernandez, although it is unlikely the Spanish coach would agree to such a move.

It’s worth noting that Pereira’s dismissal is the fourth this season after the first 10 rounds of the Premier League, following the sackings of Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou from Nottingham Forest, as well as Graham Potter’s dismissal from West Ham, which was followed by Nuno Espirito Santo’s appointment as his replacement.
