Inter Miami regained their winning ways, securing a crucial 4-1 victory over New England Revolution on Sunday morning in MLS.
Coach Javier Mascherano’s side had lost their previous match to Chicago Fire 5-3 and had previously drawn 1-1 with Toronto.
Although Lionel Messi didn’t leave his scoring mark against New England, he was a force to be reckoned with with three assists.
Messi assisted Tadeu Allende’s first goal, Jordi Alba’s second, and Allende’s third. Alba’s fourth goal was assisted by Segovia.
This victory is crucial for Miami in their bid to reach the playoffs, as the Lionel Messi’s teammates are now in third place with 59 points, three points behind Eastern Conference runner-up Cincinnati and seven behind leaders Philadelphia.
Messi’s total contributions this season with Inter Miami in all competitions have risen to 43 goals, scoring 27 and assisting 16 others.
