Memphis Depay became the Netherlands’ all-time top scorer with two goals in a World Cup qualifier against Lithuania.
The 31-year-old, who plays for Brazilian club Corinthians, opened the scoring from a Cody Gakpo cross, scoring his 51st international goal, a record.
He then scored the winner with a powerful header from Denzel Dumfries’ cross, his 52nd goal in his 104th cap.
His former Oranje teammate, Robin van Persie, scored 50 goals, the previous record, in 102 appearances between 2005 and 2017.
Depay played for PSV Eindhoven, Manchester United, Lyon, Barcelona, and Atlético Madrid before moving to Brazil last year.
He made his debut for the Netherlands in 2013 against Turkey and scored his first goal against Australia at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The Netherlands top Group G with 10 points from four matches after the win in Kaunas.
Lithuania, who came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at halftime, is the lowest-ranked team in the FIFA World Rankings (143) to have scored against the Netherlands.
