Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has defended Barcelona star Lamine Yamal, urging newspapers and fans to leave him alone and stop prying into his private life.
Yamal has been one of the most controversial players in recent times due to his numerous relationships, and Mbappé believes the 18-year-old, whom he considers one of the best footballers in the world today, should not be under close scrutiny.
Mbappé said, “You can see his great passion for football, and that’s the one thing he can’t give up. The rest is his personal life.”
He added, “People talk a lot about his personal life. He should be left alone. They have to accept that in football, he’s a great player, but in life, he’s just an 18-year-old.”
He added, “At this age, everyone makes mistakes. We do things well, and we make mistakes. Eventually, he’ll gain experience and know what’s good or bad for him. In the end, you just have to look at what he does on the pitch. The rest isn’t important if he’s not serious.”
He concluded, “That’s the only thing. He’s a very talented player, and I hope he follows the path he wants. I wish him the best. The Barcelona and Spain star should appreciate that.”
