According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Marc Casadó has made the definitive decision to leave Barcelona this summer in search of a new club that can guarantee him regular playing time next season.
The 22-year-old midfielder saw his role significantly diminish over the past season under manager Hansi Flick, who clearly preferred other options in the center of the pitch. This tactical preference left Casadó with very few first-team opportunities. Understanding that his chances of convincing Flick are slim, Casadó is determined to make a permanent exit rather than settling for a temporary loan move.
Monaco and Bundesliga Giants Race to Sign €20m-Rated Casado
Casadó has already attracted concrete interest from several European clubs. Ligue 1 side Monaco is currently pushing hard, though a final agreement between the player and the French club has yet to be finalized. Super-agent Jorge Mendes is actively working to broker a satisfying deal for all parties, hoping to close the transfer for a fee around €20 million within the next two weeks.
Meanwhile, a strong contingent from the Bundesliga has emerged. Both VfB Stuttgart and Borussia Dortmund are heavily monitoring the Spaniard’s situation. Casadó is reportedly evaluating all available options calmly before making his final choice.
Barcelona Performance and the Potential Bernardo Silva Domino Effect
During the past grueling season, Casadó managed just 34 appearances—mostly coming off the bench—totaling 1,397 minutes on the pitch, where he provided a single assist and scored no goals.
Interestingly, offloading Casadó could provide Barcelona with the necessary financial breathing room to register Manchester City superstar Bernardo Silva. The Portuguese midfielder has reportedly chosen to delay any final decision regarding his future until after the conclusion of the World Cup 2026.
