With Pep Guardiola’s departure from Manchester City approaching at the end of the current season, the English club’s management has begun searching for a successor.
The Spanish coach’s contract with City expires at the end of the current season, and so far he has not made a decision to renew it, while some reports indicate that the closest thing currently is his departure.
According to the newspaper “Marca”, the Manchester City management has 4 options, one of which will be Guardiola’s successor at the Etihad Stadium.
The name of Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso tops the list as the “ideal choice”, but there will be fierce competition with Real Madrid in this regard.
Guardiola’s former assistant and current Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta comes as the second option on the City management table.
The third option currently is Girona coach, Mitchell, who is well aware of how things work within the City Group and plays with an offensive philosophy similar to Guardiola’s.
The fourth and most difficult option is Zinedine Zidane, but the former Real Madrid coach previously announced that he does not intend to work in England because he does not master the English language.
