Manchester City announces the absence of its star player from Real Madrid match

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola confirmed that Kyle Walker will not be able to participate against Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals due to injury.

Walker suffered a hamstring injury during his participation in the friendly match between England and Brazil, and despite initial reports that it was not serious, the matter exceeded safe limits.

The English international did not participate in Arsenal’s last match, and as City prepared to face Aston Villa, Guardiola also confirmed his absence, and was asked about the possibility of his star participating against Real Madrid.

Guardiola responded by saying, “The doctors said that Kyle cannot participate against Real Madrid next week.”

He also added, “But Kyle is Kyle. He has exceptional genes. The doctors said the injury is a bit serious, but Kyle is Kyle.”

The indication remains that City will lose, alongside Walker, in the match against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, the services of the duo, Nathan Ake and Ederson, to injury, while John Stones successfully returned to training after being injured in the recent international break.
