Liverpool star injured, misses international break

Liverpool announced in an official statement that one of its stars has suffered an injury and will miss his country’s international break.

This star is Japanese Wataru Endo, who played normally as a substitute in the recent match against Chelsea, but later felt pain and underwent tests that confirmed the injury.

Liverpool’s statement did not specify the extent of Endo’s injury or the length of his absence. It simply confirmed that after communicating with the Japanese Football Association, it was decided that the player would remain at Anfield for treatment and would not participate with his country in the upcoming two friendlies.

The Japanese national team is scheduled to play Paraguay and then Brazil in friendlies as part of the Samurai Blue’s preparations for the 2026 World Cup, having secured qualification from the third round of the Asian qualifiers.

Endo has made six appearances for Liverpool this season, mostly as a substitute, and has made his mark once by assisting a goal for the Reds in the English Premier League.

Endo’s injury is not expected to be serious, and he will likely be ready to return to training with Arne Slot’s squad after the international break, making his Liverpool debut against Manchester United on October 19.
