Sky Sports reports that Liverpool’s management has settled on Mohamed Salah’s replacement at Anfield, but the deal will require a very large sum of money.
Yann Diomande, the RB Leipzig winger who has attracted considerable attention this season in the Bundesliga, has become the Reds’ top target to replace Salah, given his exceptional technical abilities and his versatility in playing on both the wings and centrally.
According to the latest report, Paris Saint-Germain is also very interested in signing the 19-year-old, and it seems Leipzig will succumb to the strong interest in their star player and allow him to leave. However, they will demand a hefty fee to facilitate the Ivorian’s departure from the Red Bull Arena.
Leipzig has initially set a price of €100 million to approve Diomande’s sale. His contract still has four years remaining and does not include a release clause, giving the German club the upper hand in negotiations. It remains unclear whether Liverpool are prepared to pay such a high price for a player still at the beginning of his career, especially given that their last Bundesliga signing, Florian Wirtz, cost the English club approximately €140 million, was not a major success.
It’s worth noting that Diomande moved to RB Leipzig last summer for €20 million from Leganés, and since then has scored 13 goals and provided 8 assists across the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal competitions.
