Liverpool is close to signing a replacement for Mohamed Salah

Football Insider reported that Liverpool’s management is working on a major summer deal at the request of coach Arne Slot so that this player can be a replacement for Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian international’s contract at Anfield expires in the summer of 2025, and whether he stays until this date or leaves this summer, Liverpool wants to find a replacement for him as soon as possible.

According to the report, Sloat informed the Reds management that the ideal replacement for Salah is PSV Eindhoven player, Johan Bakayoko, who is currently preparing to play in Euro 2024 with the Belgium national team.

Although the 21-year-old’s contract still extends until the summer of 2026, the PSV Eindhoven administration does not mind selling him for an amount ranging from 50 to 60 million euros.

Liverpool, in turn, welcomes paying this value, which it considers fair for the player, and it is expected that negotiations between the two parties will develop over the next few days and that the deal will be completed this summer.

It is noteworthy that Bakayoko is a left-handed player whose primary position is right winger and is characterized by good scoring ability, as this season he scored 14 goals and made the same in 48 matches in all tournaments.
