La Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed that a major Italian club is negotiating with two Manchester City and Liverpool stars to sign them during the current summer transfer window.
This club is Napoli, and the two players are Italian Federico Chiesa, an expert in Calcio, and Jack Grealish, City’s outcast from Pep Guardiola.
Napoli has already signed one of City’s stars, Kevin De Bruyne, on a free transfer after his contract at the Etihad Stadium expired, but signing Grealish will be more difficult given that he still has another year left on his contract with Pep Guardiola’s squad.
According to the report, City are open to selling Grealish and negotiating a reasonable price, but what is currently holding up the deal is the England international’s hefty salary, which Napoli cannot afford.
City is hoping for a “grant” from the City management, agreeing to cover part of the player’s salary, which could then complete the deal quickly.
At the same time, Liverpool wants to offload Chiesa, and Napoli is willing to buy the player and negotiate a salary agreement with him. It’s likely the southern club’s management will succeed, especially since negotiations with other options in the same position have failed.
It’s worth noting that Napoli tried to sign Bologna player Dan N’Doye, but the involvement of some English clubs has caused his price to rise, unlike Grealish or Chiesa. Together, the two players may have a lower total contract value than the Swiss international.
