The Athletic reported that advanced negotiations are underway between Al Hilal and Al Ittihad regarding N’Golo Kanté’s loan move to the Blue Wave during the 2025 Club World Cup.
At the behest of coach Simone Inzaghi, Al Hilal is looking for a new midfielder to bolster the team for the Club World Cup, and Kanté’s option is not new; in fact, he has been on the Saudi club’s radar for over a month.
According to the latest report, an agreement between Al Hilal and Al Ittihad has yet to materialize, but both parties are optimistic that an agreement will be reached this evening on all the details.
If the deal is completed, the loan will only be short-term during the Club World Cup, allowing the French international to join Al Ittihad next season.
The 34-year-old’s contract with Al Ittihad still runs until the summer of 2026, and it is expected that the coming months will witness attempts to renew his contract, given his impressive performances that led Al Hilal to a domestic double last season.
It should be noted that Kante played 35 matches with Al-Ittihad in all competitions last season, scoring 4 goals and providing 4 assists.
