Juventus has reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid striker Alexander Sorloth to join the Italian giants this summer, despite the apparent difficulty in convincing his club to sell.
Replacing Vlahovic and Personal Terms Agreed
The Bianconeri are searching for a new striker following the announcement of Dusan Vlahovic’s departure after the end of his contract and the failure to meet his high financial demands for renewal.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus met with Sorloth’s representatives in recent hours and agreed on the 30-year-old’s move to the Allianz Stadium. The player is set to earn €4 million annually for a duration of 4 seasons.
Financial Obstacles and the Atletico Madrid Dilemma
The most significant obstacle facing Juventus in completing the deal lies in the expected financial demands of Atletico Madrid. The Spanish club finds itself in a strong negotiating position, as Sorloth’s contract still extends for two additional years.
Juve has set a maximum limit of €30 million as a purchase value for Sorloth, at a time when Atletico might aim to generate more money, especially given the interest from Premier League clubs in signing the clinical striker.
These negotiations are not the only ones ongoing between Juventus and Atletico, as the Spanish club is seeking to permanently sign Nico Gonzalez; however, it is unlikely that he will be included as part of the Sorloth deal.
It is worth noting that the striker, who is preparing to participate in the 2026 World Cup, was a candidate for a move to Barcelona. He also had an agreement with AC Milan about a month ago, but the complete overhaul of the sporting management at the Rossoneri ended the possibilities of his arrival at the San Siro.
