The Darawish’s last win in the domestic competition dates back to November 1, 2025, against Ismaily Electricity, also by a single goal. Since then, their winless streak had stretched to 178 days.

Anwar Saqr scored Ismaily’s lone goal in the sixth minute of stoppage time, giving Khaled Galal’s team a crucial victory in their fight to remain in the top flight.

With this win, Ismaily reaches 17 points but remains in last place, a full 10 points behind tenth place (the first relegation spot), currently occupied by Al Mokawloon Al Arab.

This season, the Egyptian Premier League will see four teams relegated to the Professional League, while only three will be promoted, as the competition returns to a 20-team format.

Last season saw relegation cancelled to allow Ismaily to remain in the competition, but this season the Egyptian Professional Football League insists that relegation will be enforced regardless of the circumstances.

It’s worth noting that rumors suggest Ismaily might be merged with a company-owned club in the Egyptian Premier League, which would allow them to remain in the league next season even if they are relegated this season.
