Recent rumors suggested Inter Miami was looking to pair De Bruyne alongside Lionel Messi and Rodrigo De Paul to form a star-studded midfield. However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the club has made no official bid to Napoli or the player’s representatives.

Inter Miami’s History with De Bruyne and Transfer Rumors

Inter Miami’s interest in the 34-year-old dates back to the summer of 2025, when the club held discussions with his agents following his departure from Manchester City. At the time, De Bruyne opted to remain in European football, signing with Napoli.

While recent reports placed Inter Miami among the suitors interested in his services, Romano clarified that no concrete move has been made. Meanwhile, separate reports suggest interest from clubs in Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

De Bruyne’s Future at Napoli Remains Uncertain

Despite the lack of movement from Inter Miami, De Bruyne’s departure from Napoli remains a possibility following a difficult debut season in Italy.

The Belgian playmaker publicly voiced frustration over former manager Antonio Conte’s defensive tactics, stating that he was played out of position and that assurances made prior to his arrival were not kept.

The appointment of Massimiliano Allegri as Napoli’s new head coach may not fully resolve De Bruyne’s tactical concerns, given Allegri’s pragmatic and defensively structured approach.

De Bruyne remains under contract with Napoli until June 2027, with an option for an additional year. Sporting Director Giovanni Manna emphasized that the midfielder remains part of the club’s plans. However, with intermediaries actively exploring options, an exit during the transfer window remains possible if a suitable offer arrives.
