The competition for the Egyptian Premier League lead intensified following dramatic events in the eighth round on Tuesday.
The match began at the Military Academy Stadium, where Al Ahly narrowly defeated Haras El Hodoud 3-2, amid harsh criticism from the Red Devils’ fans for the team’s performance once again.
At Cairo International Stadium, Zamalek played an exceptional half against El Gouna, during which they took the lead through Oday El Dabbagh. Everyone thought the mission was over and the White Castle had secured the three points.
However, in the second half, Zamalek’s performance declined significantly, and El Gouna threatened Mohamed Sobhi’s goal more than once until Mohamed Emad equalized in the 88th minute, to the shock of the “Third Right” fans.

The gap between Zamalek and Al Ahly has narrowed to just 5 points in favor of the White Knights, with the Red Devils having one game less.
Zamalek reached 17 points, maintaining their lead in the standings, while Al Ahly has 12 points and is in fourth place.
Between Zamalek and Al Ahly, Al Masry is in second place and Wadi Degla is in third place with 15 and 13 points, respectively.
