A new and remarkable achievement has been added to Lionel Messi’s legendary career, as he reached his 1300th career contribution.
The Argentine star participated in Inter Miami’s 4-0 victory over Cincinnati in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
Messi scored one goal and provided the assists for the other three, leading his team to face New York City in the Eastern Conference final this coming Saturday.
According to international media reports, the 37-year-old’s four contributions were enough to reach the 1300-goal milestone.
Messi also reached his 896th career goal and increased his tally to 404 assists across all the clubs he has represented and the Argentine national team.
Cristiano Ronaldo still surpasses Messi in total goals scored, with the Portuguese star leading by 60 goals. Ronaldo recently captivated audiences with a spectacular overhead kick against Al-Khaleej on Sunday.
It is worth noting that Messi achieved a record in the history of the American League playoffs with 12 goal contributions, with 6 goals and 6 assists, and now he is two games away from leading Inter Miami to its first-ever league title.
