He will not betray…the Real Madrid star agrees to stay for a long time

The Athletic network confirmed that Real Madrid’s management is on the verge of reaching an agreement with Andriy Lunin to renew his contract for a long period.

In the past weeks, many doubts were raised about Lunin’s departure, as it was said that the Ukrainian required guarantees that he would be the first goalkeeper when Thibaut Courtois returns from his injury in order to continue with the Merengues.

But according to recent news, talks between Real Madrid management and Lunin have reached the final stage and the goalkeeper’s renewal is closer than ever.

The Royal Club will ensure that the 24-year-old Lunin stays for another 4 years, extending his journey at the Santiago Bernabéu until the summer of 2028.

Real Madrid’s management also decided to give Lunin a huge salary increase commensurate with what he has done recently and his status as one of the best goalkeepers in the world this season, especially since he is now the lowest-paid player on coach Carlo Ancelotti’s roster.

It remains unknown what the nature of the agreement between Real Madrid and Lonín regarding its position upon Courtois’ return, although all indications are that fair competition between them will decide the matter next season.
