Fenerbahçe has completed the hiring of a new coach to succeed Jose Mourinho: Italian Domenico Tedesco, the former Belgium national team coach.
Tedesco, known for his experience in German football, was mentioned as a possible choice to coach Al-Ahly of Egypt. It was said that the main problem was the coach’s salary, which amounts to more than 5 million euros annually.
Ultimately, Tedesco decided to continue in Europe and embark on a new and exciting experience with Fenerbahçe.
The Turkish club announced in an official statement the appointment of the 39-year-old as its head coach, with the player expected to sign a two-year contract within the next few hours.
Tedesco became the youngest coach in the history of the German Bundesliga in 2017 when he took over at Schalke 04 at the age of just 30. He succeeded in his first season, finishing second in the Bundesliga, before being fired in his second season.
Tedesco took over as coach of Spartak Moscow and then returned to Germany with Leipzig. His last experience was with Belgium, but it was never successful.
