Mikel Arteta’s men seized the opportunity to increase the pressure on their rivals, Manchester City, who have played two fewer matches than the Gunners and will not play their fixture in this round until Monday when they visit Everton.

Arsenal opened the scoring in the ninth minute when Saka – making his first start since March after recovering from an Achilles tendon injury – outmaneuvered Raúl Jiménez on the right flank, delivering a perfect cross to Gyökeres, who tapped it in from close range, scoring his 20th league goal.

In the 40th minute, the Swedish striker returned the favor to his teammate, threading a through ball to Saka, who then expertly curled a low shot past Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno at the near post. Just before the halftime whistle, in stoppage time, Gyökeres secured the three points for Arsenal, scoring his second goal of the match and Arsenal’s third with a header from a Leandro Trossard cross.

Arsenal now have 76 points, six points ahead of Manchester City, who have two games in hand, with only three matches remaining in the Premier League.

Now, Arsenal will turn their attention to the upcoming Champions League semi-final first leg against Atlético Madrid at the Emirates Stadium next Tuesday, following their 1-1 draw at the Wanda Metropolitano.
