Spanish press reports have revealed that Real Madrid star Dani Carvajal is close to returning to the club and participating in the 2025 Club World Cup.
The Spanish star has been out since last October after suffering a cruciate ligament tear. The injury was worse than expected, to the point where it was reported he would not participate until next season.
However, according to recent reports, Carvajal’s recovery is progressing well, putting him on the cusp of returning to group training in early June and then participating in the Club World Cup.
Meanwhile, Carvajal said in statements reported by Spanish media, “My mission is to return before the Club World Cup. That is my current goal.”
The 33-year-old’s return is good news for Los Blancos, as the right-back crisis has been very evident for Carlo Ancelotti’s squad this season, with Lucas Vázquez practically failing to replace Carvajal’s long absence.
Real Madrid will likely have another world-class right-back at the Club World Cup in Trent Alexander-Arnold, but the deal currently hinges on the club’s success in reaching an agreement with Liverpool to allow him to leave early.
