Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez is deeply disappointed by the decline in form of several players, but he is particularly shocked by the performance of Fede Valverde.
The “Defensa Central” network reported that Pérez cannot believe what has happened to the Uruguayan star, who was one of the key players during Carlo Ancelotti’s era, but whose performance and leadership have declined since Xabi Alonso took over as manager of the Royal Club.
Pérez has great faith in Valverde’s abilities, so he is shocked by how things have turned out and how the player has been performing at such a low level this season.
The prevailing feeling within the Real Madrid management is that Valverde might be looking to leave the club next summer, especially given the strained relationship with Alonso.
So far, Pérez is adamant about keeping Valverde and considers him untouchable, but if the player continues with the same level of performance, the Real Madrid president’s opinion may change.
The British newspaper “Daily Mail” revealed that Manchester United are interested in signing Valverde next summer, with the Red Devils’ management prepared to pay 80 million euros to acquire the 25-year-old.
