During the celebration of winning the Champions League title, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez announced the renewal of Luka Modric’s contract for another year.
The Croatian international’s contract expires at the end of this season, and it was said that the player is ready to make financial and sporting concessions in order to continue at the Santiago Bernabeu.
When Perez was asked whether Modric would leave or stay, he replied, “No one doubts Modric’s future with us. We are very happy with our ability to continue with him for another year.”
He also added, announcing the renewal, saying, “Modric will definitely be with us next season.”
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, a meeting will take place in the next few hours between Modric and Perez in person, during which contracts will be signed and the 39-year-old will be confirmed for another year.
It is noteworthy that Modric has become the player who has won the Champions League the most in the history of Real Madrid and the world, 6 times, on equal terms with Paco Gento, Nacho, and Dani Carvajal.
