It appears that Stefano Pioli’s tenure as Fiorentina coach is nearing its end, with the club’s management actively working to secure a financial agreement for his departure.
According to reports, the defeat against Lecce was the final straw that led the Viola’s hierarchy to conclude that a change on the bench was inevitable.
According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira on the X platform, Fiorentina is inclined to part ways with Pioli as soon as possible but is aware of the hefty compensation package required to terminate the Italian coach’s contract, which is worth €3.2 million net per season and runs until 2028.
While a crisis meeting of the club’s executives is taking place this evening, it is said that the final decision will rest with club president Rocco Commisso.
Pioli took over as Fiorentina coach after last season with Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia. During 10 matches in the Italian league, he did not win any of them, drew 4 and lost 6, while he achieved 4 victories in the Europa League.
